Divest Waterloo

The KW Chapter of the Council of Canadians has joined with Divest Waterloo, UW’s IC3 (Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change) and Faculty of Environment to plan two events coming in June. Our goal is to engage participants more deeply on the climate emergency and to contribute to a Green New Deal for Canada, an action plan built from the grassroots. Similar events are happening now right across Canada. We invite you to participate and request that you help us to spread the invitation by sharing this with your friends and community members.

June 19, 2019 Green New Deal Town Hall at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Kitchener. Our theme is “A just transition for Canada”. Participants will contribute ideas for a future vision, which will be forwarded to Council of Canadians and incorporated into the national discussion. Please join us. Find more details and RSVP at Green New Deal Town Hall – Kitchener

Other event: Dr. Gordon Laxer — Pipelines, Tar Sands and the Climate

Participants may attend both events or either one. Free.
