Good sunny morning 🙂

I’m writing to all of you to see if you are interested in working with a coalition of climate focused groups to call on our municipal government to declare a Climate Emergency. As you likely know, municipalities have been doing this around the world, and this wave is starting to catch on in Canada notably with Vancouver and Halifax.

If you are wondering if this is a good use of your time, check out this short interview that aired on PBS earlier this week.

Please plan to join in our local conversation to begin to plan for how we achieve such a declaration in our Region this Thursday, March 7th at 7pm at the Queen Street Commons Cafe. Please let me know if you are interested and planning on attending, and if you can’t make it Thursday but want to join us next time, let me know that too 🙂

Please extend this invitation to others you know who would like to organize on this – and ask them to RSVP as well. If our group is too large for the Commons. I will find us a more suitable space – so please stay in touch!

In peace and with gratitude for all of the good work that you do in our community!
