An event marking the twenty-eighth anniversary of the École Polytechnique de Montréal tragedy honouring the women who lost their lives and commemorating the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

3:00 pm Diana Parry, Professor, Recreation and Leisure Studies, Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, and Special Advisor to the President on Women’s and Gender Issues 

3:05 pm. Feridun Hamdullahpur, President and Vice-Chancellor, University of Waterloo 

3:10 pm Catherine Fife, Member of Provincial Parliament, Kitchener-Waterloo

3:15 pm Pearl Sullivan, Dean of Engineering

3:20 pm Candle vigil takes place. Candles are lit and information is shared about each of the women who lost their lives

3:25 pm Moment of silence observed
