- Agenda
- 4:00pm – open doors
- 4:30pm-5:30pm – Simon Dalby
- 5:30pm-6:00pm – dinner
- 6:00pm-7:00pm – “lightning rounds”
- At this point we have so many groups they’ll all probably have to take turns at the mike up front instead of circulating different tables
- 7:00pm-8:00pm “Thunder rounds”
- We are no longer splitting into categories, because we want to emphasize the interconnectedness of these issues, not put groups/issues into categories and separate them.
- Discussion groups of 7-8 people ideally, with a facilitator
- 8:00pm-8:30pm – share, come back together, wrap it up
- 8:30pm-9:00pm – shuffle people out, out of space by 9:00pm.
- Have group reps in a certain place for people to approach with questions/further discussion
- Questions
- What is the purpose of this event? To inform people about what’s going on in the community and have them commit to some action that will foster positive change in their life and/or community
- What brings you here tonight?
- After hearing the different groups, has your perspective changed?
- What action will you take to bring about positive change in your own life and/or the community?
- What are the challenges to taking this action? What might hold you back?
- Brainstorm solutions to these challenges with the group
- When we come back together, what do you see next for KW Peace?
- Think of highlights to bring back to the group, tweet sized information.
- Facilitators take notes, which we will discuss at a later time
- Publicity
- We will try to get CBC to Interview Simon as publicity. Laura will give Emily contact info for the CBC (Gary Grace)
- Laura will give Emily her amazing press list.
- Emily will write press release this weekend and distribute
- Posters
- Laura can print, will leave a stack at the commons so people can pick up and distribute
- Aiming for Wednesday
- Can we get the finished file by Monday?
- Roger will contact Rogers, see if we can get an interview
- Need to get rid of “Day” wording on blurbs, it’s an evening event
- Wording:
- Registration is free and required. Dinner is provided. All are welcome. Suggested donation towards the cost of the event is $10, and goes towards food costs, venue cost, and operational costs of KW Peace.
- Books
- Should we sell Wordsworth’s books? Relevant books about peace, maybe Simon’s book as well?
